OUR VISION

Mexico is has the highest online payment fraud in the world. 40% of Ecommerce transactions are rejected!

The reason why the current system is broken is that the companies authorizing transactions can only use a 16 digit code from credit cards. The 16 digit Card number is effectively YOUR IDENTITY. That is too week of a signal to assess the identity of online users to solve fraud, or even to allow for smoother e-commerce experience.

OUR BACKGROUND

Mati is a Silicon Valley startup, with top notch investors and engineers. We are a team of 20 people, growing. We are already integrating the biggest companies in Mexico to solve their fraud.

Mati aims at solving hard core computer vision problems in order to solve online identity. We are based out of San Francisco. Everyone at Mati has something very special that many people lack, passion. We are pursuing an exciting and long term mission. This requires passion, and also a ton of work.

Responsabilities

You will be in charge of both improving our backend with game changing features, but also making sure that the backend is always stable. You will be directly working with Mati’s backend lead engineer, which is also a great way to learn a lot.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency with JavaScript ES5, ES2017 (Babel.JS)
• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming
• Knowledge of Node.js and frameworks available for it, such as Express, Socket.IO
• Knowledge of MongoDB and its Node.js framework – Mongoose
• Good understanding of build systems, such as Gulp, Grunt
• Good understanding of security, encryption algorithms and hash functions
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and management. Ability to manage and configure AWS EC2 instances
• Familiarity with AWS services, such as S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, RDS
• Knowledge of front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS3
• Good understanding of CSS preprocessors, such as Sass,
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks and libraries, such as jQuery, Underscore/Lodash, React, VueJS
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Proficient english
