Job functions

Take full responsibility for customer-reported issues, typically managed in a case tracking system.
Comprehend the reported issue or scenario, seeking additional details from Level 1 support or the case reporter as necessary.
Find solutions using a knowledge base.
Ensure communication with stakeholders is within agreed turnaround times (TAT).
Guide to Level 1 or Level 3 resources and respond to their questions.
Examine logs and error messages to relate them to the code and suggest possible solutions.
Reproduce issues in a lab environment to gather more information or resolve the problem.
Escalate issues to Level 3 support if necessary.
Create detailed bug reports in the bug tracking system.
Document procedures and prepare runbooks.
Monitor various system components (jobs, processes, queues, DB procedures, log files, alerts) to ensure healthy system functioning.
Identify and suggest additional monitoring tools and processes to enhance system upkeep.

Qualifications and requirements

1-3 years of strong understanding of Java programming, including the ability to write, read, and debug Java code.
Ability to work in Unix/Linux environments, including using command line commands and reviewing system logs.
Experience with and understanding of scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, JavaScript, Python, or similar.
Experience with relational databases and the ability to write and understand SQL queries.
Familiarity with tools such as JConsole, JVisualVM, and other performance monitoring and analysis tools.
Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to various stakeholders.

Desirable skills

Plus: Experience working with Kafka/MongoDB/Micro services based architecture a plus.
